About Department of Medical Education and Collaborative Practice Centre, University of Melbourne
The University of Melbourne is delighted to be a Gold Sponsor of the 2024 Ottawa Conference.
The Department of Medical Education (DME) and the Collaborative Practice Centre (CPC) are thrilled to be representing the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences, during the five-day conference, which promises a packed program of speakers, workshops, and connection time. We’re excited to have this time to advance clinical education by meeting with participants who have a passion for assessment and evaluation from “near and far.”
Established in 2015, the DME is responsible for the delivery of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) course and a range of custom and graduate programs, including the Master of Clinical Education and the Specialist Certificate in Clinical Leadership. Find more about DME from this website.
The newly established CPC is an engine for collaborative practice in the health care system, equipping current and future teams to work together toward patient-centred care and improved health outcomes through education, practice, and research. Find more about CPC from this website.
Representing UniMelb, 30 educators from 6 different health professions will present their work on topics such as feedback literacy for assessment, consequences of programmatic assessment, assessing collaborative practice, workplace-based assessments, online team debates, video assessment, artificial intelligence (AI)-supported assessment tools, formative objective structured clinical exams (OSCEs), challenges with ePortfolios, online multiple mini interviews (MMIs), cultural safety in assessment, natural needs in Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), mandatory attendance, entrustable professional activities (EPAs), simulation, and change models for assessment.
Buzz over to booth 37 to meet some of our team – Anna Ryan, Liz Molloy, Robyn Woodward-Kron, Walter Eppich, Tina Brock, Jo Bolton, Carolyn Cracknell, Justin Bilszta, Brett Vaughan and more. Learn about our programs and about ways to be part of our hive. You can’t miss us, just look for the honeybee!
