Chris Plummer is a Consultant Cardiologist and Chief Clinical Information Officer at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University, UK. He chairs the board of the European Examination in Core Cardiology, is Vice-President of the Cardiology Section of the Union of European Medical Specialists, European Society of Cardiology Education Committee Member, a Cardiology Specialty Advisory Committee member, past secretary of the British Cardio-Oncology Society, a Nucleus Member of the European Society of Cardiology Council of Cardio-Oncology and a member of the Cardiomyopathy and Coronary Artery Disease guideline panels of the International Guideline Harmonization Group for Late Effects of Childhood Cancer. His clinical the research interests include prevention of the cardiovascular effects of cancer treatment, long-term survivorship after cancer treatment, the use of clinical informatics to increase patient safety and clinical education.
