Professional Bio
Claire is an oral health therapist and attained her Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Oral Health) from the University of Queensland and her Master of Public Health from Monash University. Claire has over 18 years of experience in clinical dentistry, predominantly in the public sector, and ten years of experience in dental education. Claire currently holds the position of Lecturer in Dental Public Health at the University of Melbourne Dental School. She coordinates the year-long health promotion course in the 2nd year of the Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH). She convenes the communication skills component in the Professional Dental Practice subject in the 1st year Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) program. Further to these teaching responsibilities, Claire is a member of the Melbourne Dental School (MDS) Learning and Teaching Quality Committee and the MDS Curriculum Review and Redesign Working Group. Claire also sits on the MDS Clinical Assessment Review Panel (CARP). Claire is completing a Graduate Certificate of Educational Design at Monash University and is a Board Director of the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapist Association, the peak professional association for dental and oral health therapists.
