Clare Owen is an Assistant Director at the Medical Schools Council responsible for leading the MSC's work on EDI, Widening Participation and medical education. Clare leads the policy development for the Applied Knowledge Test, part of the Medical Licencing Assessment that will be introduced in 2024/25. Clare has led numerous national projects and has produced guidance documents for both MSC and the General Medical Council on areas including medical student fitness to practice, supporting applicants to medical and MSC's overarching guidance on good practice on EDI; Active Inclusion; challenging exclusions in medical education.
