Prof. Dr. Desirée Joosten-ten Brinke (1967) is professor of Learning and Assessment at School of Health Professions Education, Maastricht University.
She studied Educational Science at the University of Twente and graduated at the Department of Educational Measurement and Data Analysis. Until september 2023, she was dean at the Open Universiteit of the faculty of Educational Sciences with a chair on Adult Learning. Between 2010 and 2020, she was associate professor at the Teacher training College at Fontys, University of Applied Sciences in Tilburg and academic director of the professional master program on Educational measurement. Her research and teaching focus is on quality of testing and assessment, e-assessment, Assessment of Prior Learning (APL), integration of formative and summative assessment, workplace assessment, and adult learning.
