Dr Gareth Davies is a honorary senior lecturer in the Department of Anaesthesia and Peri-operative Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town. He is the Head of Clinical Unit for anaesthesia services in the West Coast and Winelands districts of the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness. He is the National secretary of the South African Society of Anaesthesiologists and the president of the African Regional Section of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists. Dr Davies is currently completing a doctoral degree in the Department of Health Science Education at UCT. He is also a proud member of the UCT Faculty of Health Sciences LGBTQIA+ Group.
