Professional Bio
Jess is an early career lecturer in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne She is also a PhD candidate with Copenhagen University and Deakin University Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE). Her research project is exploring the role of technology in the learning of touch-based practices in health professional students. Jess is passionate about the areas of health equity and diversity and inclusion and has a keen interest in global health. Prior to completing her physio degree, had spent extensive time working in various projects overseas and completed an internship with the Malawi Embassy at the UN. She continued to pursue this area of interest post-graduation from the DPT through her involvement in project work with the Universitas 21 where she has lead the development of The Global Learning Partnership (GLP), a collaborative project between Universitas 21 institutions and Kathmandu University. The GLP offers students an interprofessional, immersive experience in rural Nepal centered on the Sustainable Development Goals to guide the development of meaningful community led projects.
