Jill Clarke
Program Director - University of Sydney
Professional Bio
Hello, I’m Dr Jillian Clarke, an Associate Professor in the Discipline of Medical Imaging Sciences at the University of Sydney. I am an experienced academic with a Master’s in Health Science Education and a PhD in Education, titled ‘Portfolio Assessment for Longer Term Learning in Health Professional Education’ which investigated student assessment, learning at university and graduate transition into workplace practices. I am passionate about ensuring that we use students’ time at university to not only meet professional requirements, but to foster longer term learning, through ‘learning to learn’ skills, well into their professional career, aiming to encourage and embed confidence in their professional capabilities, and to take on leadership roles. My background as an experienced, accredited, and qualified sonographer in General, Cardiac and Vascular ultrasound has led to program director positions in postgraduate medical imaging courses, and I teach courses in all aspects of ultrasound at postgraduate level and introductory sonography to medical radiation science students; supervise Masters and PhD research, and work with other researchers and research students to optimise their use of ultrasound in diverse settings.
