Lizemari Hugo-Van Dyk is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing at the University of the Free State where she is responsible for coordinating the Post-graduate Diploma in Nursing Education. Lizemari holds a Ph.D. degree in Nursing. Her field of interest and specialty is clinical learning in health professions education, and she has published several articles on this subject. She designed and is presenting a short learning online clinical facilitator training programme for healthcare professionals. Lizemari won several awards for her research in learning and teaching and holds several grants for international and interinstitutional interdisciplinary research. She has successfully completed and is supervising several master’s and Ph.D. students and has acted as an external postgraduate assessor for several higher education institutions. Her other passion is health professions education. Hence, she serves on several departmental and faculty educational-focused committees to share ideas and learn with and from others. Regionally, she serves on the Southern African Association of Health Educationalists (SAAHE) Central Committee holding the academic portfolio, and nationally, on the National SAAHE Board as Vice-President.
