Louise Curley
Senior Lecturer - The University of Auckland
Professional Bio
Louise Curley is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy, at The University of Auckland’s School of Pharmacy, and a registered pharmacist in both Australia and New Zealand. She completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2006, her PhD in 2012 and Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education in 2023. Louise has been actively involved in the undergraduate pharmacy programme at the University of Auckland for over a decade, including roles as Course Director, Module leader and was recently appointed to the OSCE lead role for later years of the course. Over the years, Louise has endeavoured to provide an authentic and supportive environment to engage and prepare students for their future careers in healthcare. She aims to stimulate students’ learning and provide opportunities to build on their core competencies in a safe, supportive, and realistic environment. She believes that by doing this, students are better equipped for the rapidly evolving healthcare workplace; students can develop their core processes and skills to forge a solid foundation to be confident health professionals and independent lifelong learners, able to adapt to ever-evolving information regarding management of health conditions. Louise has also been an active researcher in this area. Two main areas of interest are: 1) using technology and innovation in a pedagogically sound and authentic manner within the courses 2) advancing formative and summative assessment and the use of appropriate feedback.
