Professional Bio
Marika I. Wrzosek, MD is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) with clinical, administrative, and teaching responsibilities at the graduate and undergraduate medical education level. She maintains an active outpatient clinical practice treating children, adolescents, and adults. The Associate Vice-Chair of Medical Student Education for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at MCW, she has also directed several courses for medical students, including M1 Foundations of Human Behavior, M2 Neuro-Psych, and M3-4 Continuous Professional Development. She will be codirecting the Behavioral Medicine course in the new MCW curriculum launching July 2023. In teaching learners across the professional lifecycle, including graduate students, residents in psychiatry, neurology, and pediatrics, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, she utilizes innovative teaching methods. Dr. Wrzosek has been recognized by the Association for Academic Psychiatry and the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training for her achievements, and has been elevated to Distinguished Fellow status by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has presented regionally, nationally, and internationally in over sixty-five workshops, posters, and invited grand rounds on topics including trainee wellness, residency recruitment, professionalism in the digital age (“e-professionalism”), and using different media (movies) to teach. She was recently recognized by the Society for Teaching Scholars at the Medical College of Wisconsin for her work.
