Associate Professor Pavla Simerska Taylor is an Assessment and Evaluation Lead in the Medicine Program in the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Griffith University where she leads assessment design and development as well as collaboration with assessment benchmarking groups to support continuous improvement of written and clinical assessments. Pavla has been leading and contributing to several scholarships of teaching and learning research projects, such as enhancing student learning, investigating how medical students engage in peer learning including medical students generated MCQ/OSCE stations, improving assessment and feedback to students, exploring relationship between medical students’ personal characteristics and their academic performance and evaluation of medical student performance in classroom and practical assessment of anatomy/pathology items. Pavla has been leading and supporting the integration and implementation of new assessment platforms and e-assessment strategies including peer-learning and assessment activities and electronic examinations and their online proctoring, for which she was awarded multiple awards including Innovators of the Year Award at the UQ Faculty of Medicine Excellence Award 2020. Pavla has been recently awarded SFHEA.
