Dr. Richard LaBaere is currently the associate dean for graduate medical education and an adjunct clinical professor of family medicine at A.T. Still University–Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Mo. He served as regional assistant dean for the Michigan region at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc, Mich., where, in 1993, he began his career in private practice and graduate medical education. Over the past 29 years, he has served in various roles as family medicine residency program director, director of medical education, and today provides leadership as designated institutional official (DIO) for Still OPTI, an accredited sponsoring institution, and for the National Center for Osteopathic Principles and Practice Education at ATSU-KCOM.
