He has completed his MBBS and MD (Community Medicine) from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, Wardha. He is a permanent faculty and has been designated as an Associate Professor at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar. He has almost 11 years of experience; his area of interest of working are health system strengthening, primary care, health education and promotion, chronic diseases, tribal health, maternal and child health, and occupational health. It is also very interested in teaching and medical education. He is a passionate primary care physician, public health specialist, academician, researcher, innovator, and writer. His focus is on how people get healthy and access health services. He has published 50 research publications in various international and national peer review journals.
