Professional Bio
Dr Melanie Fentoullis is an Education Focussed Senior Lecturer (Clinical Education Fellow) and practicing Consultant Paediatrician who leads innovation in education at the UNSW Faculty of Medicine and Health. She supports clinical learning and teaching across the UNSW Medicine Program and is the Academic Co-Lead for the Medicine Program Redesign. Dr Fentoullis is internationally recognised in education as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and Associate Fellow of ANZAHPE (AFANZAHPE). Her awards—2021 UNSW Vice Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, alongside 2019 and 2020 UNSW Medicine Educational Excellence Awards—speak to her reputation for transformational teaching innovations including novel digital learning resources, cross-cohort peer teaching, and authentic interactive online resources that enhance students’ workplace readiness. Her ongoing passion is to support students’ development as professionals, especially through fostering their teaching skills towards effectiveness in educating their patients, peers, and health professional colleagues.
